Fellow Organizations
The following organizations are among those that have called for the elimination of glueboard use.
- The ASPCA: “The ASPCA opposes the use of glue traps and toxins that cause pain and prolonged suffering.”
- Humane Society of the United States: “Glue boards are responsible for more suffering than virtually any other wildlife control product on the market.”
- The MSPCA: “Help end the use of glue traps by urging local retailers to stop selling glue traps and educating family and friends on why these traps are inhumane.”
- Centers for Disease Control (CDC): “Glue traps can scare mice that are caught live and cause them to urinate. This may increase your risk of being exposed to diseases.”
- PETA: “One of the cruelest methods of killing animals that exists today is the glue trap.”
- Animal Welfare Board of India: “Available evidence clearly suggests that the use of glue traps causes unnecessary pain and suffering to the rodents and is against the spirit of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act...”
- In Defense of Animals: “If people understood the degree of cruelty associated with the use of glue traps, they would want no part of them.”
- AAALAC: “Alternatives to 'sticky/adhesive' live board traps should be used for mice to avoid unnecessary animal distress as required by the Guide as part of a program of adequate veterinary care.”
- WildCare: “ These traps are not only ineffective, they are unbelieveably cruel to both the target animals caught, and to non-target animals accidentally stuck like songbirds and small pets.”
